Scaling Up Day: Growth Starts with People
It was a pleasure to join the Scaling Up Day | Fall Edition, hosted by Unicorn Factory Lisboa, an afternoon of learning, great conversations and new connections across the entrepreneurial ecosystem.
One of the highlights was the Fireside Chat with José Salgado, from BIZAY, and Stephan Morais, from Indico Capital Partners.
It was particularly interesting to hear José openly share BIZAY’s journey, from where they started to where they are today, including decisions that did not go as planned. From choosing investors to recognizing when a choice was not the right one and adjusting course, his story was a powerful reminder that growth is rarely a straight line. Learning, adapting and course-correcting are all part of the journey.
The event also celebrated the graduation of Cohort 9. The three-minute pitches provided a great snapshot of the progress, ambition and hard work behind each company.
And a new journey begins with Cohort 10, bringing together companies from different countries and backgrounds. It will be exciting to follow their evolution in the months ahead.
Behind these journeys are, first and foremost, founders and teams doing the work every day, supported by Unicorn Factory Lisboa and the partners who contribute knowledge, experience and connections.

Scaling Up Day: O crescimento começa nas pessoas
Foi um prazer participar no Scaling Up Day | Fall Edition, promovido pela Unicorn Factory Lisboa, uma hora de almoço de aprendizagem, excelentes conversas e novas conexões no ecossistema empreendedor.
Um dos destaques foi o Fireside Chat com José Salgado, da BIZAY, e Stephan Morais, da Indico Capital Partners.
Foi particularmente interessante ouvir o José partilhar abertamente a jornada da BIZAY, desde onde começaram até onde estão hoje, incluindo decisões que não correram como esperado. Da escolha de investidores à necessidade de reconhecer quando uma decisão não foi a mais acertada e ajustar o rumo, uma excelente demonstração de que o crescimento raramente acontece em linha reta. Aprender, adaptar e corrigir fazem parte do percurso.
O evento marcou também a graduação da Cohort 9. Os pitches de três minutos permitiram perceber a evolução, a ambição e, sobretudo, o trabalho que existe por detrás de cada empresa.
E começa agora uma nova jornada com a Cohort 10, reunindo empresas de diferentes países e contextos, cuja evolução será muito interessante acompanhar.
Por detrás destes percursos estão, antes de mais, founders e equipas que fazem o trabalho todos os dias, apoiados pela Unicorn Factory Lisboa e pelos parceiros que contribuem com conhecimento, experiência e conexões.
